Shady Grove Christian Church is one of the oldest churches
associated with the "Stone/Campbell Movement" in Alabama.
We speculate that Alexander Campbell himself preached on this
location in the 1830s. Click on our church's historical marker
for more information.

No Creed But Christ,
No Book But the Bible

As followers of Christ, we take the Bible to be our only rule of faith and practice. We hold Christ as our only head. We plead for the unity of Christians based not on man made creeds, but on the foundation of Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Savior and on His inspired Word as the highest authority.

We wish to be Christians only, but we readily admit that we are not the only Christians. We attempt to use Bible names for Bible things, and do Bible things in Bible ways.

We understand that every matter is not an item of faith, nor are all matters just opinions. Where the Bible explicitly speaks, we hold that to be the standard for ourselves and all others. Where the Bible is silent we allow the largest differences of opinions.

Directions: Exit I-85 at interchange #64; take US Hwy 29 North (toward Amoco station, 29 will cut to the left immediately past the Amoco Station). Travel north 3 miles to the intersection of Lee Road 177. Turn left on Lee Road 177. Church is on both sides of the street and the side of the building can be seen from US Hwy 29.
